Jaguar Heritage Trust
Museum 360° virtual tour
The Jaguar Heritage Museum was originally located in Jaguar’s spiritual home at Browns Lane, Coventry. When the museum was forced to close following the purchase of the site by property developers, the Jaguar Heritage Trust sought a new home for the collection. During this period the museum management were keen to maintain a museum presence and commissioned Pan 3Sixty to create a virtual ‘Jaguar Heritage Museum’.
The museum virtual tour includes 360° panoramas of seven different vantage points, showcasing the 29 cars on display plus other historical exhibits such as race trophies and artworks. Two car interior panoramas to provide viewers with a driver’s eye view of the world’s only Jaguar XJ13 and a passenger’s eye view from the rear of the 1957 Jaguar Mark Vll formerly used by HRH The Queen Mother.
For ease of use, the panoramas were embedded into a sleek virtual tour user interface designed to the same branding guidelines as the new Jaguar Heritage website. Users can navigate between panoramas using thumbnail photographs or panorama-to-panorama hotspots for a ‘walk through tour’ of the museum. Pop-up labels provide comprehensive information about the cars whilst social media links enable viewers to share the virtual tour via Facebook and Twitter.
