The process of attending a hearing can be quite daunting for witnesses and registrants alike. To familiarise attendees with the hearing process, the General Optical Council commissioned us to create a hearing centre virtual tour to act as a visual guide to both the hearing centre and the process of attending a hearing.

Photographed at the GOC’s main hearing centre in London, the virtual tour starts in the reception area where all attendees arrive before a hearing. Further 360° panoramas show the witnesses and registrants waiting rooms, and the tour finishes with the hearing room.

Accompanying each panorama is a description of the room, including their use within the hearing process. Pop-up information points provide further information regarding the people that attendees may encounter during a hearing and the role they play.

There is also an audio version of the virtual tour for viewers who may have visual impairments, with all the audio tracks recorded by a professional voice over artist in a dedicated recording studio.

VR Version

We have also created a VR version of the virtual tour, tailored explicitly for viewing on the Oculus Go headset. Viewers can navigate from room to room for a walkthrough tour of the hearing centre or use thumbnail navigation. All the information is relayed to the viewer using the audio tracks recorded for the original virtual tour.
