Cruise ship virtual tours of the Three Queens

Pan 3Sixty has worked with Cunard on multiple occasions since 2007 to create 360° cruise ship virtual tours for all three Queens; Queen Victoria, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth.
The finished virtual tours have been viewed by hundred of thousands of viewers, enabling existing Cunard clients to explore these magnificent ships and potential clients to immerse themselves in the Cunard brand.

Queen Victoria

In 2007 creative agency Refreshed Media partnered with Pan 3Sixty to create a 360° virtual tour of the Cunard’s latest Queen, MS Queen Victoria.

With the 360° virtual tour set to go live on the day of Queen Victoria’s maiden voyage from Southampton, the ship was photographed whilst she was still under construction in the Fincantieri dockyard in Venice, and then at sea bound for Southampton.

In addition to overcoming numerous technical challenges of photographing a moving ship, still under construction, sometimes with models, we worked to a 24 hour timetable to ensure that each location was photographed when it looked its best, not matter what hour of the day or night. To save further time we set up a digital darkroom onboard so the 360° panoramas and retouching work could be carried out in parallel to the photography. This also enabled us to work closely with client and a number of Cunard stakeholders to ensure the finished 360° panoramas were approved prior to going live.

We created 40 high quality 360° panoramas to convey the feeling of luxury found onboard Queen Victoria. From the spectacular Grand Lobby rising over three decks to the luxurious Staterooms, from dining to relaxation, from fitness to entertainment, all aspects of the ship were carefully considered, skilfully photographed and the completed 360° panoramas incorporated into the virtual tour prior to the deadline.

The Queen Victoria virtual tour was an overwhelming success on its launch, receiving 90,000 unique visits in the first few months, rising to just under 200,000 in the first six months. It set new standard for cruise ship virtual tours and differentiated Cunard from the competition by providing their customers to with a real feeling for the ship prior to making a booking.

Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth

Following on from the success of the Queen Victoria virtual tour, Pan 3Sixty completed two further major commissions to create a virtual tours of Cunard’s flag ship, Queen Mary 2 and also Cunard’s newest liner, Queen Elizabeth.

Subsequent smaller commissions have also seen us photograph the three Queens following major refurbishment work, so customers can see the new interiors, staterooms and suites.
