Hotspots
We can incorporate hotspots into into a 360° panorama in a number of different ways to meet different requirements as follows:
Hotspots for a ‘walk through virtual tour’
By linking one 360 panorama to the next we can provide the user with a ‘walk through virtual tour’. Simply by clicking on doorways and other obvious routes of passage, the user can move through a building much as if moving from one location to the next in person.
In addition to navigating through a tour using floorplans or thumbnail images, a walk through virtual tour adds a further lever of interactivity, making the experience more more engaging for the user.
The panorama above is one of five in a series of linked 360 panorama of the Milestones of Flight exhibition at the R.A.F. Museum. London. Click on the hotspots to move through the tour. You can find the hotspots by clicking the ‘arrow’ containing a ‘?’ in the toolbar.
Hotspots & Pop Up Labels
Hotspots can also be used to label items within 360° panorama. As you move the cursor over the exhibits in the panorama above ‘pop up’ label will appear identifying each aircraft.
Should you wish, the hotspots could be clicked to trigger a furhter action such as providing the user with a description of the exhibit or another page containing further information on the item.
