The Museum houses much of the colourful history of Maldon with a changing selection of objects associated with the area and people of the Maldon District.

The origins of the collection were in the pre-war Maldon Museum founded in 1922 by a group of Borough Councillors. The history of railways in Maldon is featured together with the associated transport from horse buses to the post-war taxi firms. A new display will show the upstairs downstairs life in Victorian Maldon. The Museum Association is an entirely voluntary body and would welcome new volunteers to help with any aspects of its activities.
