Burnham-on-Crouch & District Museum The Burnham-on Crouch & District Museum is a local museum devoted to the history of the people, places and activities of the Dengie Hundred. The displays are on two floors and deal mainly with maritime, agricultural and social history. There is a small archaeological collection. The downstairs gallery is often used to stage special exhibitions and recently these have been on artistic as well as historical subjects. There is a small but well stocked shop where a variety of books and gifts are for sale. The museum is run by Burnham-on-Crouch & District Local History and Amenity Society which is a registered Charity. The museum is independent and is largely funded by its own efforts. All of the committee and helpers are volunteers and give their time freely in order to help preserve our local heritage. |
