Langemark German Military Cemetery, Belgium

The day after visiting Tyne Cot and the Buttes New British Cemetery at Polygon Wood I visited the German Military Cemetery at Langemark. In stark contrast to the Allied cemeteries, the atmosphere at Langemark was dark and brooding beneath a thick canopy of oak trees, exasperated on the day by stormy autumnal skies.

Whilst visiting any of the cemeteries was an experience to reflect on, a visit to Langemark Cemetery was a particuarly somber experience.
