Pan 3Sixty recently completed a virtual tour of the latest Henry Moore exhibition, ‘Prints & Portfolios’, currently being exhibited at the Henry Moore Foundation in Perry Green, Hertfordshire.
Unlike the virtual tours we produced of previous exhibitions for the Henry Moore Foundation, the new virtual tour uses our ultra high resolution 360 panoramas. At sixteen times the size of our normal full screen 360 panoramas, the virtual tour enables viewers to zoom in on each exhibit in far greater detail.

Pan 3Sixty photographer Phil Giles won the February Flair Competition run by Creativematch with a panorama of the woodland near Much Hadham created earlier in the year. See the previous blog entry for more about the panorama, or click here to see a larger version.
Creativematch is setup to “provide everything for the UK creative industry, online.” and Flair is their “monthly competition for illustrators and photographers. It is designed as a showcase of recent work, a chance to show off your talents to the wider creative community and it’s clients. It’s also the chance to put your work before a global audience and have it judged by industry experts.”

Pan 3Sixty was recently commissioned, by two separate clients, to produced a single 360° panorama of a shop interior. In both instances the clients wanted to use pop-up graphics to highlight items within the shops, but in different ways and for different reasons.
The first panorama, of a Phones 4U store, was produced for H Squared Ltd; a design company specialising in creating brand presence at point of purchase. The panorama is being used by H Squared to showcase their latest work to potential clients, with seven pop-up labels emphasising specific features of the shop design they created.

The second panorama was produced for the London based Leica specialist, Red Dot Cameras. Whilst the 360° panorama provides a great overview of the shop, additional pop-up photographs of the display cases afford a view of the huge range of cameras for sale, from the latest £16k + Lecia S2 way back to the Leica 1 Model A.

By way of interest, the panorama of Red Dot Cameras was made on a Leica M9 using a Leica Tri-Elmar 16-18-21mm f4 ASPH-M lens set at 16mm. I’ll be posting more about the production of this panorama in a forthcoming post, including a comparison with my standard setup of a Canon 5D Mk2 & 15mm f2.8 lens.

In late 2008 we produced a virtual tour showcasing the London landmarks that competitors will see when running the ASICSs British 10k London Run. For the forthcoming 2010 race the virtual tour has been updated, including:
- Additional 360° panoramas of Admiralty Arch and Buckingham Palace, produced just prior to the Trooping of the Colour.
- A revised map of the new race route for 2010.
- Updating the branding for 2010.
- The panoramas are now displayed in full screen by default.

During the recent cold snap, I produced a series of panoramas of the local countryside. Living on a single track dead end road, it’s never cleared nor gritted and so it doesn’t take much for us to get snowed in. As such, my walks were limited to the neighboring Hertfordshire villages of Perry Green, Much Hadham, Hunsdon and Widford, where I live.
In near white-out conditions and with the snow still falling, the local landscape was totally transformed and provided the opportunity to create sublime panoramas of the ‘near monochrome’ scenery.
Editing the final selection down to three panoramas, and experimenting with a number of different panoramic projections, I found each of the compositions naturally lent themselves to being displayed in their own particular way.

The ‘World Wide Panorama’ is a series of panoramic events that began back in 2004. There are four events each year, with each event based on a specific theme, attracting entries from photographers all over the world both professional and enthusiast alike.
The latest World Wide Panorama event went live today, showcasing the ‘Best of 2009′. For this event I entered a panorama from one of my favourite places in one of my favourite towns; Bonifacius Bridge in Bruges, Belgium.

We’ve been working on a commission for Hertford Museum to create a series of 360 degree object rotations and stills photography as part of the museums Heritage Lottery funded redevelopment.

Artifacts from the ‘Where in the World’ exhibit were photographed and the resulting 360 degree object rotations and stills will be displayed on a touch screen kiosk as part of the actual exhibit. With the artifacts and photographs displayed side by side visitors will be able to see the artifacts firsthand and then in greater detail via the object rotations on the kiosk along with accompanying information.
